cruise only

Carnival Cruise Line operates out of the Long Beach Cruise Terminal in California. The terminal is located near the Queen Mary permanently docked. It is home to more than 300 cruises per year and is the largest cruise port on the West Coast.

The main terminal building is housed in a large geodesic dome. It has been renovated and expanded, and is now the busiest cruise terminal worldwide. There are many attractions nearby, including the aquarium of the Pacific and the Long Beach Subway Station.

Long Beach is America's second largest container shipping port. The port is located close to Los Angeles airport, making it a convenient choice for cruising. However, the Pacific Coast can have unpredictable weather. For this reason, some transpacific cruises will port in Hawaii instead of Long Beach.

The shuttle service that takes you to Long Beach Cruise Center is available for those who fly into Los Angeles. You can also hire a taxi for $30. Uber is another option that can transport you to the cruise terminal. However, the prices can vary.

Before embarking on a cruise, you should get a reservation or ticket. This will ensure you arrive in the correct time and have all your luggage. It is a good idea to call ahead and arrange early baggage check-in.

Long Beach is home to three Carnival Cruises ships. One of these ships, the Carnival Splendor will soon be headed to Australia. The other two are the Carnival Miracle and the Carnival Radiance. Both ships travel weekly to Ensenada Mexico on weekly basis. They offer wine tastings as well as dining and tours during their stays.

Long Beach Cruise Terminal has its own parking. The garage measures five stories tall with 1,450 parking spots. The free shuttle service provided by certain hotels allows those without cars to avoid paying parking fees.

You can use any of the four shuttles that take you from the airport directly to the cruise terminal if you don't own a car. Each passenger will pay $18. A special permit can be obtained for those who require handicapped parking.

Once you have arrived at the terminal, you will need a place to put your luggage. The cruise line does not provide lockers or wheelchairs. But they do have porters who can help you with your baggage.

FAQ

Are there any cons to cruising?

When considering the pros and con's of cruising, there are some things you need to be aware of. Some people may decide that they don’t want to spend the entire vacation on a yacht. Others may prefer to stay near shore or in hotels. Others may be uncomfortable traveling so far from home. However, these fears can be easily overcome by choosing a cruise that includes plenty of time ashore.

How long does it take to get to port?

It depends on many factors such as the distance between the port & the ship and the speed at which it travels. You should note that not all ships dock at the same location as the shore. This allows them to unload their passengers quickly. Others dock further from shore so the ship takes longer to arrive.

Is there food on a cruise that isn't expensive?

Yes! Food is complimentary on all cruises. However, you must purchase drinks to enjoy them.

Costs vary depending on the type of ship that you sail on. For example, for a cruise on a luxury vessel, you might pay $20-30 per drink. For a smaller vessel, the cost of a drink will be around $10-15 per person.

While some people enjoy exploring new cities, others prefer to relax onboard. No matter what boat you are on, it is important to remember the type of destination that you wish to visit. The Caribbean is the most popular destination, followed closely by Europe or Alaska.
  3. Booking a Suite is a good option if money is not an issue. Suites include extra space, a private terrace, and additional amenities. These rooms are generally available for $100-$300 per evening, depending on how big your room is and if there are any suites available during your sailing date.
