Quantum of the Seas Cruise Ship

cruises news media group

The Quantum of the Seas is a Royal Caribbean cruise ship. It is the Quantum's flagship and the third-largest ship in the Quantum class. It currently serves Alaska's cruise market. Its top features are the North Star (adult-only solarium), Dynamic Dining and Skydiving.

North Star

Quantum of the Seas offers guests the opportunity to enjoy a 360-degree panorama of the surrounding world with the North Star. This glass capsule, located on the top deck of Quantum of the Seas, is connected to a mechanical arm which can raise or lower it up to 300 feet above the sea level. It also rotates 360 degrees, giving passengers a panoramic view of the ship and the surrounding ocean. Its design is similar to the London Eye, an iconic Ferris-wheel.

The North Star can accommodate up to 14 passengers, as well as a wheelchair passenger. It can extend past the side or the ship while at sea, but it won't extend beyond the side or the ship during port. Crew members will close down the pod during bad weather and limit its movement. Reservations are encouraged, but not mandatory for this ride.

Skydiving

Passengers can experience the thrills of freefall in a glass flight chamber and weightlessness with the iFly simulator. The simulator is located on deck 16 and offers the opportunity to feel the thrills associated with freefall. The instructor can instruct either a tandem or individual class. The instructor will give instructions and guide passengers through each step of the experience. The experience is enjoyable for the whole family, and it is available on all Quantum class ships.

Although the Harmony of the Seas doesn't have an adult-only sunra, it does have a walk through mister that sprays water into the pool.

Quantum of the Seas - the latest Royal Caribbean ship - has an Adult Only Solarium. This relaxing space spans two decks, with a glass rooftop above. The Solarium features a thalassotherapy and four large Jacuzzis as well as one large swimming pool. There is also a lounge that offers light snacks and complimentary drinks.

Dynamic Dining

Dynamic Dining by Quantum of the Seas is an innovative new way to dine on the ocean. This new dining option gives guests greater control over when, where, and with whom they dine. This flexible system allows you to make reservations for any dining event well in advance, or even before you board. Royal Caribbean can also arrange group coordination services.

Quantum of the Seas has four dining venues that offer rotating menus. Dynamic dining was originally introduced by Disney Cruise Line as well as Norwegian Cruise Line. However, it did not catch on and will be discontinued on Anthem by November 2016. Although it started as four different main dining rooms offering different cuisines and then evolved into a rotational system. The table mates were rotated between the various restaurants each night.

FAQ

Is a cruise good vacation?

The best vacations are when you don't have to think about anything but relaxing and enjoying yourself. A cruise is what the doctor ordered.

How do I pick the best cruise line?

Choosing the right cruise line is easy. First, choose the type of cruise that you wish to take. You might prefer a smaller intimate cruise, or one with many passengers. Consider how much you can afford. Look for cruises with all-inclusive packages if you're looking for something less expensive. This will mean that you won't need to pay extra for meals, drinks, entertainment or other amenities. If you are planning a family vacation, make sure that you select reputable cruise lines that offer great family programs.

What tip do I have to give my Cruise Director?

This varies from cruise line to cruise line. Some cruise directors get tips, while others do not. It is best to ask your Cruise Director before you board the ship to find out if they expect tips. They will most likely tell you if tipping is expected.

How long does the journey to port take?

There are many factors that affect how long it takes to reach the port. These include distance between port and ship, speed of ship travel, etc. Not all ships dock near shore. They can then unload their passengers very quickly. Other ships dock farther away from land so it takes longer time for the ship arrive.

How To

How to avoid seasickness while on cruise

You can avoid seasickness by wearing a cap while on cruise. A wide-brimmed hat helps prevent motion sickness by keeping the head from moving too much.

A hat can also keep water off the head, decreasing the amount of moisture in the air. This makes it easier to breathe for those who experience dizziness when inhaled moist air.

Drink plenty of fluids. Avoid alcohol or caffeine. These drinks dehydrate the liver, causing fluid to pool in the stomach. A sufficient amount of liquids will reduce salt levels. Salt causes the body to retain water which leads to nausea.

You may feel nauseated if you eat something salty. Salty foods can cause your stomach to produce more hydrochloric acids, which aids in breaking down food particles.

These are just some of the possible ways to reduce seasickness. Some medications can cause side effects like dry mouth, dryness, constipation, blurred sight, headaches, dry lips, dry skin, dry gums, dry lips, constipation, dry eyes, dry throat, dry skin, and constipation.
